Me and partner had travelled from Newcastle via train and bus to get over to Yorkshire, The Wentworth Arms was really easy to get to, 840 bus straight from York Train station to Old Malton, takes about an hour but literally drops you off at the door step, practically a 2 minute walk over. Stayed here for 3 nights as we planned for Flamingo Land for a couple days, nice and easy to get too and very easy to spot where you'll be staying, definitely different, never seen an ivy covered building before. Kindly greeted as soon as we entered the main pub doors, and was shown up to our room to sort out luggage, etc, and was shown where breakfast will be for the mornings, which may I add *chefs kiss* beautiful food! Honestly can't fault it, perfect few nights we spent there, lovely and quiet even by a main road, slept like a log, rooms and toilets lovely and clean, staff really kind and friendly, and definitely well worth the money. Absolutely fantastic quality food as well, very filling but extremely tasty! Supplied with lovely clean towels, bedding, soap, tea and coffees and Freeview TV in the room, literally can't fault anything. Was an absolute pleasure to stay here. Never did go around to the garden area, but from the window view it looked very pretty. Main pub itself was fantastic also, lovely atmosphere and everyone is just so friendly and cheerful. Thanks for having us, was an absolute pleasure :) Until next time Yorkshire :) we'll be back very soon!

Food was fab; staff super friendly, very helpful and efficient; bed clean and comfy, pillows a little thin. Shower easy and plenty hot enough, let down by tile grouting starting to go black - & strangely long cracking across sections of floor tiles. Whole shower room, including door, would benefit from a lick of paint. Mismatched mugs. No bikkies or toiletries, other than soap - but that's fine as the room and breakfast were such good value. Needs secondary glazing as on main road, that was busy most of the night. Not helped by ill-fitting window, 3 small broken panes, and thin curtains letting in noise and light. Other bedrooms at side and back! Nicely-decorated room, with lovely trendy-coloured 'tongue n grooved' lower walls & door. But let down by all surfaces very sticky. May have been poorly cleaned & polished but more likely to have been a poor varnishing job (no time to dry between coats!)?) All in all, a good stay but could have been improved.

We really enjoyed our stay, quaint little pub with cozy rooms. You have to appreciate it is an old building so some things are more rustic and it will have single pane windows, meaning traffic can be a little noisy when the roads are busy, but this was to be expected. Maybe it could benefit from noise reducing curtains.. Staff were fantastic and incredibly helpful, nothing was too much trouble and breakfast was great. We will definitely stay again when in the area.

The breakfast was good, the evening pub-meals very good and good value. The staff were Yorkshire-friendly and attentive. If we had been there a few days longer, we fancied the bus ride from right outside the door over the North York Moors to Whitby. It was near enough to walk to our destination, Malton, but again there was a bus stop just across the road.

Food was exceptional & reasonably priced. Room comfortable & clean. Staff were great. Breakfast was really good. Small bar area but you could tell that it's run in a great way & the locals love it. We stayed here to use as our base as we were going to flamingo land & a sneaky trip to Scarborough & would highly recommend to others.
